Who We Are

  • Jenn D'Eugenio

Whether she's cataloging the latest version of Black Sabbath's Master of Reality, or organizing the production schedule as Vice President of Gold Rush Vinyl, Jenn is always organizing and keeping things on track.

With a research minded and inquisitive approach to all things, Jenn has spent a lot of her life learning all types of trades, educating, and creating in various ways all the while appreciating music on vinyl - eventually leading her to a melding of her talents with a career in the vinyl industry.

When it comes to wanting to share all the cool things she learns, or to building a community Jenn is the person you turn to.

  • Robyn Raymond

As a practicing lathe cutter, production guru, and former touring musician Robyn has been utilizing her charisma, ear for music, and sometimes even her degree in physiology, guideposts for her production and physical media endeavors for over two decades.

When she’s not making sure the next live show you see goes off without a hitch, Robyn is busy lathe cutting a short run project for your next favorite indie band.

Robyn spends most of her time in earplugs, where the technical side of music and the joy it brings intersect. Her fun quips and deep cut knowledge will prep you for any music trivia night.

  • Ray Blevins

The king of a good fade, transition, and blend, be it on his turntable decks or the podcast, Ray handles all of our editing and production for The Women in Vinyl Podcast - with a keen ear for all killer, no filler episodes.

Veteran audio engineer, vinyl DJ, and record collector, Ray is the Production Director at Gold Rush Vinyl, and is one of only a couple people in the world who knows how to use a machine which actually plates a record in 24 karat gold.

Ray adds his long time technical knowledge, ear for detail, and fact checking skills to make sure we sound our best, no matter what Jenn and Robyn throw in front of his board.

Episode 53 - Dr. Rene Wiedner, University of Warwick

As Henry Rollins says, “knowledge without mileage, is B.S.” and so we’re pausing our world tour to have a more academic conversation with Dr Rene Wiedner.  Dr Wiedner is an associate professor of organization theory, at the University of Warwick - Coventry, and has been studying developments in vinyl record manufacturing for some time, with a particular interest in what happened between 1990 and 2015, a time when vinyl records were considered obsolete, and before the recent ‘vinyl revival’. He is currently writing an academic paper and a book on the topic, and joins us to discuss the importance of craft. And why we should be concerned with the preservation of skill, sharing knowledge, and how we learn and share manual skills. Here at Women in Vinyl, we are focused on creating educational opportunities and paving roads to jobs using that education.  Check out: - Dr Wiedner's research here: https://craftresearch.org/ - Read more:  https://www.wbs.ac.uk/about/person/rene-wiedner - The WBS Process and Practice Research Programme: https://warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/wbs/research/ppi/  Thank you to gia.llo and indie label Patiotic Records for the use of the song ‘Goa’.  The song is featured on the album ‘We Are LoFi Vol 2’ by the label.
