Episode 62: Guest Host Series: Indie Roots & Vinyl Community
Listen To This Episode - 72:35
For this episode of the Women in Vinyl Podcast, we’re introducing a new format: a guest host series highlighting voices from across the vinyl industry. Our first guest host is a familiar face (and voice), Amanda Schutzman of All Media Supply. Known as the indie store queen, Amanda works closely with record shops across the country and brings years of experience growing up in and working with independent stores.
Amanda’s first guest is Sam Nemeth, owner of Erie St. Vinyl, a record store built on deep musical roots and community. Sam shares her path into the world of records, shaped by a lifelong love of music and the independent spirit that defines record store culture.
Together they explore how record stores are more than retail spaces — they’re gathering places where friendships form, discoveries happen, and communities grow. From renewed interest in CDs as vinyl prices rise to the excitement and logistics of preparing for Record Store Day, they also dive into what it takes to keep a local record store thriving.
